About Stories
Stories is a purpose-led property development company, and a certified B Corp. We partner with landowners and investors as principal developer, development manager and strategic advisor on projects that have a higher purpose than just financial returns.
We are progressing a number of exciting, high profile projects, including:
-
A new, 50% affordable Build to Rent (BTR) scheme in Mill Hill Broadway
-
The long-term redevelopment of Mansfield College in Oxford
-
A community-led regeneration project in Frome town centre
-
A masterplan for a 600-home estate in south London
We are also growing our pipeline through a £100m joint venture with Aviva Capital Partners, and are in advanced discussions on multiple new schemes, with an ambition to secure a further 4-5 major projects over the next few years.
Coming from different property backgrounds, we set up Stories so we could use our development skills to create positive outcomes for people.
We’re currently a team of ten – the three Co-founders, one Development Director, four Senior Development Managers an Assistant Development Manager, a team administrator (and a dog) – and we have a rotating Advisory Board comprising some of our industry’s most experienced individuals.
What matters most to us is finding somebody that really cares about people, knows that property development can be a positive force for change and can bring a fresh perspective to what we are trying to achieve.

Job Description
We are hiring for a role to cover Executive Support, Office Management and Team Coordinator. This is a really important role as the size of the team and the number of projects we are delivering increases. You will report to directly to the co-founders and will have the opportunity to work with the whole Stories team and will have a very big influence on the culture of the team.
This role has become available as the wonderful Sandra will be retiring from the business at the end of June 2025.
As part of this role you will be involved in marketing and HR. We are open to broadening the scope of this role to include these areas more substantially, either from day one or as the business grows.
Executive Support – supporting the executive team with diaries, admin and their day to day roles.
Team Coordinator – supporting the development team, particularly with arranging key meetings and administrative tasks.
Office Management – maintaining a great office environment and dealing with the day to day running of the office.
This role would be suitable for either a full time or part time role, and we are open-minded to different working arrangements, so long as there is sufficient coverage across the week, particularly Monday to Thursday.
We will of course look favourably upon candidates who have experience fulfilling this role or similar roles within similar organisations, however, there are no specific qualifications or experience that we require. Everyone has their own story and we are open minded to people from different backgrounds applying for the role. What is most important is being able to give us confidence that you will deliver against the roles and responsibilities set out below.
Attributes that are important for this role:
Organisation – Exceptionally organised with a strong attention to detail.
Communication – Friendly, professional, and confident communicating with all levels.
Self-starter – comfortable working in a fast-paced, sometimes ambiguous environment, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities.
Reliability – Consistently deliver to a high standard; discreet and trustworthy with sensitive information.
Engaging – kind, thoughtful, hard-working, with strong integrity and interested in the world and other people.
Responsibilities
As we are still a small team, this role is intended to be quite broad. You will be supporting the whole team at Stories, with particular focus on the leadership team (co-founders James, Paul and Richard).
Your core role is providing executive support alongside wider office management and team coordination, but in doing so you should expect to get involved in HR, Marketing and wider business operations. As the business grows and you establish yourself, you will have the ability to shape this role in whichever way aligns with your interests and meets the needs of the business. We hope you find this an exciting prospect.
Executive Support
Provide diary management and admin support (e.g. travel booking, expense claims) to three co-founders.
Assist with preparing presentations, reports or team communications.
Minute-taking during key team meetings or project sessions.
Support occasional project or task follow-ups.
Manage signing and filing of important documents such as legal agreements.
Support Paul and James with marketing – specifically posting on social media and website, coordinating marketing activities, preparing marketing material.
Support James with HR matters – coordinating meetings, arranging contracts, helping to administer HR policies.
Team Coordinator
In your role you will help to coordinate and support our Development Team working on projects and new opportunities. This will include:
Support scheduling of key external project meetings.
Support scheduling of internal project or company meetings.
Support with other administrative tasks for the team where required.
Maintain and update shared calendars, trackers, internal documentation and policies.
Act as a central point of contact for internal queries and requests.
Office Management
We have a self-contained office at The Record Hall, which is operated by Workspace and we do not currently host that many visitors to our office, reducing the scope of office management responsibilities.
Oversee the day-to-day running of the office space (supplies, equipment, facilities, looking after the plants)
Liaise with building management and any other suppliers as needed
Manage health & safety protocols and compliance (e.g. fire drills, first aid kits)
Coordinate future office moves.
Organise team socials and company events.
Help onboard new joiners.
Additional responsibilities
HR and Marketing - We anticipate that this role will overlap with HR and Marketing and we would therefore be interested in applicants who are seeking a full-time role that included more responsibilities in one or both of these areas. Your primary responsibilities would be to the areas above, so we would need to ensure there was sufficient scope in your working hours to accommodate the additional responsibilities.
IT – Ideal candidates would be comfortable setting up, managing and troubleshooting IT, but this is not a requirement of the role. You will however be expected to use existing and future IT and software, including Microsoft Office and Notion (with training where needed).
Application Process
We’re asking all applicants to submit a CV, one page covering letter and a short video (maximum 5 minutes).
Your cover letter should introduce yourself, why you are applying for the role and why you think you would be a good fit.
Please include the following in your video:
Why you are applying for this role and what interests you about Stories.
Why you think you would be a good fit for the role, considering ‘what we’re looking for’ and the job description.
A career success you are particularly proud of.
You do not need to make a polished or highly produced video — a simple recording on your phone or laptop is perfect.
Please send your CV, cover letter and video (or a link to your video) to people@stories.partners
There is no fixed deadline. We will keep the job open until we find the right person, but we encourage you to apply as soon as you’re ready to give yourself the best chance.
